While attending GISRUK 2019 we would like to ask all delegates to consider their environmental impact and therefore suggest delegates bring a re-fillable water bottle. We would also like you to consider your use of paper, and if you choose to take notes do so digitally - however we appreciate that this may not be always possible or preferred so there will be a small number of notebooks available, provided generously by one of our sponsors, Ordnance Survey.

Early career scholarships

We will be offering 10 scholarships for early career researchers (see criteria below) - These have now been offered, sorry to those who missed out.
These will cover the registration fee. For those who would like to apply, please do so following the submission of your abstract using the link below. We will notify all applicants of the outcome of their application before the end of February to give time to register at the Early Bird rate if unsuccessful for a scholarship.

Criteria:
  • Lead author on an abstract (short or full)
  • One of:
    • An undergraduate student
    • A postgraduate student on a masters course
    • A postgraduate student studying for a PhD
    • A researcher with less than three years’ experience
  • Available to attend GISRUK 2019 between the 23rd to the 26th April 2019 in Newcastle

The scholarships will be awarded on the quality of the abstract submitted, with only one application per person being considered.

Early career workshops

A programme of workshops for early career researchers has been planned, beginning at lunch time on the 23rd April and running until the start of the main conference at lunch time on the 24th April. Registration for these has closed, sorry!
